If your business is unable to operate as a result of emergency orders, please review our sample closing checklists that may be used to supplement your internal procedures.
We at Spiritus Law understand the complexity and confusion of emergency orders as they proliferate through media reports. Please understand that not all reports include all relevant substantive details and you should consult state regulators and/or counsel to be sure you are in compliance with active emergency orders. Violation of emergency orders can result in fines and even arrest of on-premise staff. While our physical office may be required to close in the coming days, please note that we are fully capable of continuing operations remotely for the duration of our national state of emergency.

Various emergency orders have changed how on-premise alcohol service venues can operate. Movie theaters, bars and nightclubs have been ordered to shut down in most jurisdictions. Check your state and local regulations for the latest developments. Review our FAQ’s sheet here.
Governor DeSantis restricts restaurant operations to take-out/delivery only state-wide. The Executive Order also expands alcohol delivery options for restaurants and relaxed product return requirements for cancelled events. PLEASE CHECK LOCAL REGULATIONS – please note that the Order establishes a floor for local municipal and county government regulations. Local jurisdictions with “home-rule” authority can further restrict the Governor’s Order and add delivery restrictions as well as curfew or other limited hours of sale. Local jurisdiction websites and social media pages are becoming the fastest source of information as government offices close.

Having recently undergone our own extensive rebranding, we truly know the value of a name and the brand you present to the world.
Q: Are you now a new law firm?
A: Absolutely not. We have a new name and logo, and will soon have a new website, to better reflect the firm we are today – a firm that remains on the forefront of alcohol regulatory law through the same core values we’ve always had: wisdom, creativity and resolve.
Q: Why did you rebrand?
A: Having just celebrated our one-year anniversary, we believed it was time to create a defining name and brand. Our practice areas have evolved and expanded, so we’ve embraced a new name and look to better reflect what we offer our clients and the legal community. We believe our new name – Spiritus Law – captures our dynamism, our spirit, our passion, and our unwavering commitment to our clients.
Q: Will anyone’s contact information change?
A: Only slightly. The firm’s address, phone and fax numbers remain the same. Email addresses will switch from the “lewisfoxlaw.com” domain name to “SpriritusLaw.com.”
For example, if you would like to email Marbet Lewis, her new email address is Marbet.Lewis@SpiritusLaw.com.
Note that emails addressed to the old domain name WILL automatically forward to the new address as we all transition from LewisFox to Spiritus. No communications will be returned or lost.
